MICROS South Africa was formed in February 1997 with the acquisition of the MICROS distributor rights for Southern Africa. It’s head office is based in Peter Place, Sandton with regional branches in Cape Town and Durban.
MICROS’s restaurant systems include a full-featured point of sale application, offering transaction control, restaurant operations, accounting data, interfaces to other systems, communications, and hardware and support services. MICROS offers POS hardware terminals for entry of restaurant orders these are proprietary intelligent terminals developed and designed by MICROS specifically for the rigors and demands of the industry.

The Company’s restaurant POS software systems are the 9700 Hospitality Management System, the 3700 POS system and the e7 Series. These systems provide transaction control for table service, quick service, hotels and large foodservice and entertainment venues. The 9700 HMS is designed for hotels, resorts, casinos, airports, stadiums/arenas, theme parks and larger independent and chain restaurants. The 3700 POS is intended for table service, quick service and fast casual restaurants and the e7 Series is for small restaurants or coffee shops.
